Job summary

Birmingham Search Group is seeking a die setter/operator in Michigan to set up and adjust dies in stamping presses, ensuring parts meet specifications. You will configure and operate automatic or semi-automatic presses, perform routine machine maintenance, and work with the Tool Room to diagnose and repair dies.

Responsibilities include maintaining production quality, following setup sheets, and actively participating in continuous improvement while keeping the work area clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Education and experience as listed: high school diploma or GED preferred; 2+ years operating presses or related area; forklift and crane licenses required.

Responsibilities

• Set up dies at press per setup sheets and ensure proper staging.
• Operate presses (manual, mechanical, or computer driven) to produce parts.
• Perform routine maintenance: cleaning, lubrication, and oiling of machines.
• Coordinate with Tool Room to diagnose and repair dies.
• Check machine operation and report faults to supervisor.
• Maintain clean, organized work area in a 5S system.
• Uphold safety standards and quality in the workplace.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
