Job summary

Mohawk Industries is hiring for a 2nd shift production operator. You will operate equipment to cut, measure and wrap rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl, inspect for quality and follow system instructions for reverse rolls.

The role requires basic computer skills, attention to detail and a lift truck license where applicable. The position emphasizes safety, quality standards, and teamwork in a large global flooring operation based in the Dalton area.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic Computer skills.
• Ability to read and write in standard English and numbers.
• Some mechanical ability preferred.
• Good attention to detail required.
• Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others.
• Ability to apply common sense in understanding how to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
• Must have valid lift truck license or complete lift truck certification.
• Physical ability to reach, sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to cut, measure and/or wrap rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl.
• Inspect rolls for processing (cut tape, load core, pull tickets).
• Process roll into AS400 and Alcon system by using hand-held scan gun.
• Inspect product for defects, damage, correct width and color/style and make necessary quality decisions.
• Be able to follow system instructions for reverse rolls.
• Must understand quality standards and color codes.
• Print and apply tickets and labels for identifications purposes.
• Observe operations of the equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Replace worn blades and tape rolls.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.
