Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. in Dalton, GA is seeking a 2nd shift production operator to run equipment for cutting, measuring and wrapping rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl.

You will inspect, label and process rolls, ensure color/width accuracy, and follow system instructions for reverse rolls. Responsibilities include operating equipment, scanning with handheld devices, inspecting quality, and performing basic maintenance like blade and tape changes.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write in standard English and numbers.
• Some mechanical ability preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to cut, measure and/or wrap rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl.
• Inspect rolls for processing (cut tape, load core, pull tickets).
• Process roll into AS400 and Alcon system by using hand-held scan gun.
• Inspect product for defects, damage, correct width and color/style and make necessary quality decisions.
• Be able to follow system instructions for reverse rolls.
• Must understand quality standards and color codes.
• Print and apply tickets and labels for identifications purposes.
• Observe operations of the equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Replace worn blades and tape rolls.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.
