Job summary

LEMOINE, a Great Place to Work-certified company, is seeking a Construction Surveyor in New Orleans, LA area. The role establishes and maintains horizontal and vertical control on construction sites, ensuring precise layout of foundations, partitions, and exterior improvements.

You will support field operations with surveying technology, read blueprints, and coordinate with project teams to prevent delays and keep costs in check.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; degree in construction management or surveying preferred.
• Experience: prior experience in commercial construction surveying.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment (Trimble, GPS, total stations, laser levels).
• Experience in AutoCAD and blueprint reading required.
• Microsoft Office familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive safety culture through proactive observations, conversations, and coaching.
• Utilize field engineering and layout technology to ensure accurate construction layout and alignment.
• Set up and operate surveying equipment, including Trimble or similar total stations, GPS systems, and laser levels.
• Read and interpret blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate layout.
• Perform layout verification for foundations, paving, structural components, and vertical concrete elements.
• Identify potential conflicts in construction documents and provide proactive solutions to prevent errors.
• Work closely with project teams to coordinate layout needs and keep construction on schedule.
• Maintain accurate records of survey data, layout points, and field adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with project specs and LE MOINE’s quality control requirements.
• Assist with training field personnel on surveying procedures and equipment use.
