Job summary

LEMOINE in Baton Rouge is seeking a Construction Surveyor to establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control on active sites, ensuring precise layout of foundations, paving, and exterior improvements. You will support field teams with surveying technology and coordinate layout needs to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Construction Management or Survey Engineering preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in commercial construction surveying or related field.
• Technical: Proficiency with surveying equipment (Trimble, GPS, total stations, laser levels).
• Technical: Experience in AutoCAD and blueprint reading.
• Office: Familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive safety culture through proactive observations, conversations, and coaching.
• Utilize field engineering and layout technology to ensure accurate construction layout and alignment.
• Set up and operate surveying equipment, including Trimble or similar total stations, GPS systems, and laser levels.
• Read and interpret blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate layout.
• Perform layout verification for foundations, paving, structural components, and vertical concrete elements.
• Identify potential conflicts in construction documents and provide proactive solutions to prevent errors.
• Work closely with project teams to anticipate and coordinate layout needs, ensuring schedule adherence.
• Maintain accurate records of survey data, layout points, and field adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and LE MOINE's quality control requirements.
• Assist with training field personnel on surveying procedures and equipment use as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Engineer Manager or Project Superintendent.
