Job summary

PBC Linear Bearings is seeking a skilled CNC setup technician to join a precision manufacturing team. You will install fixtures, verify programs, and set tooling on CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines.

You’ll read engineering drawings, apply GD&T, and perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure tight tolerances. As workloads require, you’ll troubleshoot tooling and setup issues, support operators, monitor wear and machine health, and maintain accurate setup documentation.

Qualifications

• Blueprint literacy and confidence with engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
• GD&T knowledge and practical interpretation of drawings.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
• Working knowledge of tooling selection, offsets, feeds, and speeds.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines: install fixtures, load/verify programs, and set tooling.
• Perform tool changes and apply offsets; fine-tune processes to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and inspection criteria; apply GD&T where applicable.
• Complete first-piece and in-process inspections using precision instruments.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup challenges to reduce downtime and boost throughput.
• Support machine operators during production runs and provide hands-on guidance.
• Monitor tool wear, machine health, and process consistency; make proactive adjustments.
• Maintain accurate setup sheets and production documentation.
