Job summary

Freudenberg Group's DMH-USA division seeks an experienced CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist to program, set up, and optimize CNC machines that produce precision components from metal and plastic. You will work with G-code and M-code, CAM software, and CAM workflows to drive quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T, selecting tooling, establishing offsets, performing first-piece inspections, and training operators while maintaining documentation

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC programming and machine setup experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Experience setting up CNC milling and/or turning equipment.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
• Willingness to meet physical demands (lift up to 50 pounds, stand 4+ hours).
• Basic English reading and speaking skills required to follow instructions and safety information.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM software.
• Set up CNC mills, lathes, routers, and other machining equipment for production runs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.
• Select and install tooling, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
• Establish machine offsets, tool lengths, and machine parameters.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and verify conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot programming, tooling, machine, and quality issues.
• Monitor machine performance and suggest improvements to reduce scrap.
• Maintain setup sheets, tooling requirements, programs, and process changes.
• Train and support machine operators on setup requirements and production processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic machine upkeep.
• Support lean manufacturing through 5S methodology.
