Job summary

The CNC Standard Operator for Dwyer Instruments, PTY in Grandview, MO will set up and operate CNC lathes and machining centers, ensuring parts meet blueprints and quality standards. You will perform tooling changes, minor program adjustments, and routine maintenance while maintaining a clean, safe work area on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include loading tools, verifying first pieces, recording production data, and following all safety procedures in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must have sufficient experience and/or training in basic machine shop practices to operate and set-up CNC lathe(s), CNC machining Centers, milling machine(s), radial drill(s), and any light drill press(es) in accordance with shop drawings and instructions.
• Ability to work under limited supervision and direct operators.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and install tooling for standard parts production and set up machines per order requirements.
• Operate machine tool after set-up and verify first pieces meet dimensions and quality standards.
• Select, remove, and replace indexable inserts and sharpen cutting tools as needed.
• Make minor CNC program adjustments, including geometry and tooling offsets.
• Change cutting oils and lubricate machinery; maintain clean, safe work area.
• Record production information as directed and follow shop safety procedures.
