Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE West Chester MRO is seeking a Machine Operator to set up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM, or Laser machines, ensuring parts meet specifications and quality standards. Position requires attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Primary duties include monitoring dimensions with precision tools, completing paperwork, inspecting assemblies, and building electrodes for Fast Hole EDM as needed.

Qualifications

• Able to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages.
• Able to follow simple instructions or directions.
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress or work completion.
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gages, calipers, micrometers and height gages to assure conformity of parts.
• Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
• Check paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.
• Use precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM
