Job summary

ANDRITZ in Lancaster, OH seeks a Machinist/Operator to set up and run conventional drills and milling machines. You will select tooling, adjust speeds/feeds, align and secure workpieces, and perform precision drilling and milling to tight tolerances.

The role requires attention to detail and teamwork in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include maintaining proper housekeeping, following supervisor instructions, and assisting with various shop operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Receives work instructions from supervisor and follows setup procedures.
• Selects cutters, spindle speeds, table feeds and fixtures for short-run jobs within standard procedures.
• Mounts/secsures cutting tools, aligns workpieces and fixtures, and sets up to reference points.
• Operates drilling and milling to close tolerances, including deep-hole drilling and related operations.
• Performs hole tapping (including blind holes) when required.
• Maintains good housekeeping and cooperates with shop personnel.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 2 or more conventional drills or mills.
• Select cutters and speeds, fixtures and alignment for short-run work.
• Mount, align and secure tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Execute drilling and milling operations to tolerances.
• Tap holes and verify finishes and dimensions.
• Maintain cleanliness and collaborate with teammates.
