Job summary

Aerotek in Brighton, MI is seeking an experienced Mill Machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC milling machines to produce precision components. You will read blueprints, select tooling, perform set-ups, and verify parts with micrometers and bore gauges.

Strong Mazak/Mazatrol experience and 3+ years required; your work will support engineering and quality teams in a fast-paced shop. Shifts are available in a heavy manufacturing environment with strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong blueprint reading and tolerance control.
• 3+ years of experience as a mill machinist.
• Proficiency with manual and CNC milling machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC milling machines to produce precision components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine machining requirements and sequence of operations.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job to ensure optimal machining performance and part quality.
• Perform machine set-ups, changeovers, and tool offsets, including adjustments and minor program edits on CNC equipment as needed.
• Operate Mazak mills and utilize Mazatrol programming to run and adjust machining programs.
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and bore gauges to measure and inspect parts.
• Maintain tight tolerances and verify that all parts meet specified quality and dimensional requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
