Job summary

Steel Tool & Engineering Co. specializes in aerospace precision fabrication and is seeking a Precision CNC Manufacturing Specialist for its Trenton, MI and Taylor, MI sites. You will own setups, programming, and process control on CNC lathes, mills, and 5‑axis centers to meet tight tolerances.

Your hands‑on Mastercam programming, G‑code expertise, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs drive quality and on‑time delivery. This role offers hourly pay and full benefits with multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CNC machine setup, operation, and in‑process adjustments.
• Hands‑on Mastercam programming and program editing experience.
• Strong knowledge of G‑code and CNC troubleshooting.
• Experience machining aerospace‑grade materials and sheet metal components.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal lathes, VTLs, mills, and 5‑axis platforms for production and prototypes.
• Program and edit with Mastercam; refine G‑code and apply best‑practice toolpaths.
• Load materials, configure machine parameters, establish work/tool offsets, and execute machining operations.
• Detect non‑conforming conditions and implement corrective actions to protect quality and delivery.
• Leverage CMM data; apply accurate tool wear offsets at the controller.
• Collaborate with supervisors and mentor junior operators to sustain performance.

Precision CNC Manufacturing SpecialistHelp build flight‑critical components at Steel Tool & Engineering Co., an AS9100‑certified, NADCAP‑accredited leader in Aerospace Precision Machining & Fabrication.Where: Trenton, MI & Taylor, MI | Schedule: Full-time, HourlyCompensation: $19.25–$24.00 per hour (experience‑based) | Shifts: 6:00 am–4:30 pm; 12:00 pm–10:30 pm; 3:30 pm–2:00 am with $1.00/hr night premiumYour MissionTransform raw stock into precision aerospace hardware.
