Job summary

Steelcrest Precision, formerly Wauseon Machine, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and Swiss machines using existing programs to produce precision components for aerospace and defense applications.

Responsibilities include machine changeovers, tooling and fixture setup, loading and verifying CNC programs, ensuring dimensional accuracy, performing first-piece and in-process inspections, reading blueprints, applying GD&T, and maintaining a clean, safe

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years CNC machining experience with setup and operation.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficient with inspection tools and gaging equipment.
• Experience with GD&T principles.

Steelcrest Precision

(formally Wauseon Machine) is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our aerospace and defense manufacturing team. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines using existing CNC programs to produce precision-machined components that meet customer and quality requirements. CNC programming is not required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience operating and setting up CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines.
• Experience performing machine setups using existing CNC programs.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and thread gauges.
• Strong math skills including decimals and fractions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
• Experience in an AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 environment.
• Strong GD&T knowledge.
• Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and similar alloys.
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.
