Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC is seeking a CNC operator in Indiana to set up and run Haas and Mazak machines for orthopedic instrument manufacturing. The role emphasizes small-batch, high-precision work and requires blueprint reading and inspection skills.

Candidates should have 1–4 years of CNC experience, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to use micrometers and calipers. Working hours are 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM with potential overtime and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of hands-on CNC machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Direct experience operating Haas or Mazak CNC machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, GD&T, and schematics.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately use micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Set up tooling, load materials, and safely operate Haas and Mazak CNC machines to produce orthopedic surgical instruments to precise specifications.
• Small-Batch Execution: Manage short production runs efficiently, performing frequent job turnovers and setups suited for small batch manufacturing.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret mechanical engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and process sheets to determine machining parameters and tolerances.
• Quality & Precision Inspection: Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment like micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Machine Maintenance: Perform basic daily machine maintenance and report issues promptly.
• Compliance: Adhere to quality standards, ISO guidelines, medical device manufacturing regulations, and safety protocols.
