Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions in Salisbury, NC seeks a Machinist to set up and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills, producing precision parts for large equipment in a low-volume shop.

You will read blueprints, select tooling, write and adjust CNC programs, inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, and coordinate with fabrication and assembly teams to keep production on schedule. A high school diploma and 3–5 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on CNC and manual machine tool experience.
• Experience with setting up and running lathes and mills in low-volume work.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T basics.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of CNC setup and program editing (Fanuc or similar).
• Understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling selection.
• Strong math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and related machine tools to produce parts to print specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequence.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods for each job.
• Write, change, and prove out all CNC programs; troubleshoot and adjust programs to correct issues during production runs.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) to verify conformance to specifications.
• Report equipment issues promptly.
• Coordinate with fabrication, weld, and assembly supervisors to keep parts flowing on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards.
• Accurately document completed work, scrap, and downtime as required.
