Job summary

Laitram Machine Shop, L.L.C. is seeking a Machinist Level 2 to operate CNC machinery, inspect parts, and ensure conformance to quality standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with machining processes, attention to measurement details, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Responsibilities include loading stock, performing inspections with micrometers/calipers/gages, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Has a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years machining experience.
• Experience using inspection tooling (micrometers, calipers, gages) to measure part features.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions).
• Self-managed and able to work independently or in a team.
• Flexible and responsive to changing demands.
• Excellent time management and strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Load stock into CNC machine work holding devices and monitor the machining process.
• Perform visual and physical inspection of parts per Quality Management System.
• Enter quantities, clock in/out, and complete appropriate paperwork.
• Clean equipment and keep work area clean and organized.
• Make adjustments at the machine control to maintain or improve part quality.
• Conduct standard machine job change over procedures and assist in training others.
