Job summary

Laitram Machine Shop, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., is seeking an entry level machinist on the 2nd shift in New Orleans, LA. You will machine a variety of materials to meet dimensional and workmanship standards per our Quality Management System.

Responsibilities include loading stock into CNC setups, inspecting parts, recording transactions, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic math, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Able to work independently or in a team environment.
• Flexible and responsive to changing demands.
• Excellent time management.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Load stock into CNC machine work holding devices and monitor the machining process.
• Perform visual and physical inspection of parts per Quality Management System.
• Record transactions and closes operations; complete paperwork as required.
• Keep equipment clean and work area organized.
