Job summary

Mobile Track Solutions, L.L.C. seeks a skilled Machinist to join our production team on a full-time or part-time basis. You will produce precision‑machined components by reading blueprints, selecting tooling, and setting machine controls with safety and quality in mind.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of machining experience or an associate degree, with math skills and attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related machining experience or an associate degree from a two-year college or technical school is preferable.
• Proven experience and knowledge as a machinist.
• Mechanically inclined and able to work independently with little direction.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, blueprints, work orders.
• Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective equipment and clothing.
• Strong attention to detail and math skills.
• Effective English reading, writing, and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operation and set up requirements.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
• Confers with engineers, production personnel or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area and maintains all equipment to like-new appearance according to maintenance plans and procedures.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with customers, co-workers and management.
• Continue to grow and learn knowledge and use tools for continuous improvement.
• Monitors work environment for hazards and reports all concerns.
• Follows safety protocol, including wearing all required PPE.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner.
• Fill in as needed / Perform other duties as assigned.
