Job summary

System One is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong mill set-up expertise in Wheeling, IL. You will set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce precision components while upholding strict quality standards.

The ideal candidate can read blueprints, select tooling, and adjust machines to meet tight tolerances, working both independently and with a fast-paced manufacturing team. Overtime is available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Proven mill set-up experience on 3, 4, and/or 5-axis CNC machines.
• Able to independently set up and operate CNC mills.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge preferred.
• Experience using precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Solid understanding of machining practices, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience in precision manufacturing, aerospace, or other tight-tolerance industries.
• Ability to edit or troubleshoot CNC programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Perform complete machine set-ups, including tooling, fixtures, and offsets.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Verify first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Make machine and tooling adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy while meeting production deadlines.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety and quality standards.
