Job summary

Komline is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to set up, run, and maintain metal fabrication equipment across a range of processes. You will work with CNC lasers, plate rollers, press brakes, and band saws, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality while adhering to safety standards.

Collaborating with production, welding, engineering, and quality teams, you’ll help deliver components that meet specifications and deadlines in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating fabrication equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with automated laser cutting; loading part files and adjusting machine settings.
• Experience with plate rolls, hydraulic press brakes, band saws, welders is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication prints.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate fabrication equipment including plate rollers, press brakes, vertical band saws, and small press brakes used in system fabrication.
• Operate a CNC laser, including loading part files, making necessary machine adjustments, and processing materials accurately according to specifications and engineering drawings.
• Form and bend metal components using hydraulic press brakes while maintaining required dimensions and tolerances.
• Cut plate, pipe, tubing, and structural materials using vertical band saws.
• Safely utilize overhead cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment to transport heavy plate, structural and assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and fabrication specifications.
• Select the appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings based on material thickness and job requirements.
• Verify finished dimensions using tape measures, calipers, squares, protractors, and other measuring devices.
• Perform machine setup and routine adjustments to ensure quality and efficient production.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance and lubrication.
• Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety issues promptly.
• Complete production documentation and maintain accurate shop records.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Assist other fabrication and production departments as workload demands.
