Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is hiring for QA/QC Inspector roles at levels 1 or 2 within the Prototype Fabrication Applied Metrology Group. The team performs dimensional inspections of diverse materials and supports the lab's nuclear stockpile readiness efforts.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of metrology and dimensional inspection methods that require you to apply shop mathematics, English-Metric unit conversions, and trigonometry.
• Ability to learn and properly utilize inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges and other manually operated inspection equipment.
• A basic knowledge of manufacturing techniques and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with basic computer programs such as Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Learn job skills and become familiar with Laboratory policies to complete assignments.
• Perform in-process and final inspection of machined components using drawings and specifications.
• Work within a team environment with supervision from senior inspectors.
