Job summary

Qualifications

• Optical school graduate or equivalent experience.
• Competent in the use of optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters.
• Craftsman skill level with assembly hand tools and light power tools.
• Neat, accurate, and consistent work.
• Works well independently and assumes responsibility for own work.
• Attention to detail and ability to retain communicated information.
• Appropriate communication skills to convey information to other associates and supervisors.
• Understands when to request guidance from superiors and the proper chain of command.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, align, bond, and test free-space optical assemblies and laser heads in a clean room environment.
• Align and integrate optical components, including lenses, mirrors, beam splitters, and other precision optical elements.
• Operate laser systems and optical test equipment to verify alignment and product performance.
• Perform functional testing and inspection to ensure assemblies meet quality and performance specifications.
• Troubleshoot assembly and alignment issues and work with engineering to implement solutions.
• Document assembly, testing, and inspection results in accordance with company procedures.
• Follow clean room protocols and comply with all safety and quality requirements, including laser safety and ESD procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, product quality, and production efficiency.
• Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed are essential functions of this position.
