Job summary

ADM Colby, WI is seeking a Formulation Operator to join our Colby production team. You will follow directions to operate hoists, grinders, mixers and other equipment to prepare cheese formulations, weigh ingredients and ensure proper labeling and organization.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 55 pounds, adherence to GMP, HACCP and SQF guidelines, and a willingness to work a 6am start, Monday through Saturday when production is running.

Qualifications

• Follow time and attendance guidelines as per employee handbook.
• Work cooperatively in a team environment and accept directions.
• Able to stand for long periods and climb stairs regularly.
• Capable of maneuvering 500 lb barrels with assistance.
• Lift up to 55 lb individually or up to 100 lb with assistance.
• Able to squat and bend frequently while lifting up to 55 lb.
• Work at shoulder level or overhead frequently.
• Operate a scale and machinery safely using basic controls.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction from the Cook Operator and Team Leader to initiate processes.
• Operate hoists and/or wire cutter to cut barrels into slices.
• Operate cheese grinder to introduce weighed cheese into mixer.
• Operate blender to combine powders and flavors into cheese mix.
• Add powders to the liquefier as instructed.
• Label and organize ingredients for easy identification.
• Accurately weigh emulsifiers, acid, water and other ingredients.
• Read and follow instructions to weigh ingredients using scales.
• Sign off on ingredients staged and verify grinds, blends and slurries.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the day and at production end.
• Report any suspicious food defense activity.
• Other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Management.
