Qualifications

• No specific education beyond a high school diploma or GED is required; related experience or training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Use air or power-driven tools to remove flash and grind excess from castings to Palmer Foundry standards.
• Belt grind parts after casting is cut-off to reduce gate areas and chill marks as required by workmanship standards.
• Finish grind and blend areas with hand tools to match contour without altering casting shapes.
• Inspect finished castings and disposition non-conforming parts per PF procedures; initiate rework or weld repair as needed.
• Enter data into computer systems, read spec sheets, and deliver finished parts to shipping/receiving.
