Job summary

Accelera in Mobile, AL is seeking a Mechanical Design Technician to bridge conceptual design and precision manufacturing. You will leverage CAD expertise to translate client requirements into actionable blueprints that drive production.

The role centers on creating detailed 2D prints and 3D models, applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards, and ensuring manufacturability while maintaining revision-controlled drawing libraries.

Qualifications

• Proficient in CAD and drafting to meet client specs.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience managing multiple design packages and revisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine detailed 2D prints and 3D models based on client sketches or technical specifications.
• Apply precise GD&T standards and material callouts to ensure designs meet quality and tolerance benchmarks.
• Evaluate incoming project files for manufacturability, identifying potential production obstacles.
• Manage comprehensive drawing libraries and maintain revision control for accuracy.
• Partner with shop floor personnel to clarify specifications and resolve interpretation challenges.
• Provide dimensional analysis and technical support to assist the quoting team in delivering accurate estimates.
• Create clear process documentation and work instructions to streamline design-to-fabrication transitions.
