Job summary

Whirlwind Steel Buildings Inc. seeks a dependable Machine Operator to join its warehouse team in Houston. This role operates machinery to cut and prepare cable per customer specs and production needs, with training provided for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will read work orders, follow instructions, and maintain quality while working in a fast-paced environment. Prior machine-operating experience is a plus, and forklift experience may be beneficial.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Previous machine operating experience is a plus; willingness to learn and receive training is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cable-cutting machinery to cut materials to specified lengths based on work orders and customer requirements.
• Set up and prepare machines for production, including loading materials and adjusting settings as needed.
• Measure and cut cable accurately while following work instructions and production schedules.
• Monitor machine operation and inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Safely handle heavy materials and equipment, following established safety procedures at all times.
• Identify and report equipment issues, production discrepancies, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation.
• Work closely with team members and supervisors to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and minimizing machine downtime.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and established operating procedures.
