Job summary

Reader Precision Solutions in Wisconsin seeks a Secondary Operator to remove burrs and ensure high precision on machined parts. You will inspect components, operate laser engravers and various machines, and maintain a clean, compliant work area. Detailed inspections and ERP data entry are key parts of the role.

Ideal candidates have a keen eye for quality, strong math and measurement skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Monday–Friday with a daytime shift.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow department processes and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks and work in a team.
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving and accuracy.
• Basic math and data entry skills; ERP experience is a plus.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and inspection tools.
• Vision corrected to 20/20 for accurate inspection of parts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure conformance of workpieces to specifications using micrometers and calipers.
• Set up machines by lifting, moving, and clamping tools and fixtures.
• Handle positioning and removal of workpieces; manage scrap disposal.
• File, grind, buff, or scrape edges to remove burrs and sharp edges.
• Label finished parts and transport materials as required.
• Perform daily visual inspections of machines before operation.
• Verify materials, gauges, prints, and instructions at job start; manage gauging equipment after.
• Document activities in ERP; clock in/out and print job cards; track downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area; support 5S in the plant.
