Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a highly skilled Burner to join our shipbuilding team. The role involves making critical cuts using hand torches and precision burning equipment to ensure proper installation of ship components and modules.

The ideal candidate has experience with industrial burning processes, blueprint reading, and a strong safety mindset. This position requires the ability to work across multiple shifts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Formación

• Experience with industrial burning processes and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• Experience in structural fabrication or shipbuilding environment preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Operate hand torches, IK12, IK72, and Koike mod drive burning machines to produce high-quality cuts.
• Determine proper tooling for each job, including torch tip size and fuel flow settings.
• Interface with shipbuilders and other trades to ensure project success.
• Proficiently use bevel gauges, squares, and rulers to set up precise machine operations.
• Work safely and accurately to produce final cuts.
