Primoris Heavy Civil in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Bridge Carpenter to construct, erect, and repair wooden bridge components such as forms, scaffolds, and falsework, reading blueprints and schematics to determine dimensions.

You will measure, cut, and fit materials, install timber piling and deck forms, operate hand and power tools safely, and collaborate with crews to meet project specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in bridge carpentry or heavy civil construction preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, scheoscopes, and sketches to determine dimensions and materials.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using hand/power tools.
• Build wooden forms for concrete and ensure proper alignment and bracing.
• Construct and erect falsework and scaffolding per plans and safety rules.
• Install timber piling, caps, stringers, and deck forms on bridges.
• Operate tools safely and efficiently; inspect work for compliance with specs and codes.
• Work with crew to ensure project success and maintain clean, safe sites.
