Job summary

N. Wasserstrom is seeking a Brake Press Operator to set up and operate shop machinery to fabricate metal or wood parts, including saws, CNC routers, and edge banders.

You will read specifications, follow verbal instructions, and work in a designated area of the plant, with flexibility to assist other departments as needed. Essential duties include loading materials, performing basic machine maintenance, maintaining a tidy workspace, checking parts with measuring tools, and complying with safety

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1-3 months related experience or training preferred.
• Knowledge of shop machinery (saws, CNC routers, edge banders).
• Mechanically inclined; able to operate shop machinery and hand tools.
• Able to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
• Able to add and subtract fractions.
• Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Detail oriented, accurate, and organized.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate shop machinery to fabricate parts and products.
• Load/unload materials onto machines.
• Perform basic maintenance and upkeep on machines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Check work using measuring tools and quality procedures.
• Refer to build documents and basic drawings.
