Job summary

MASS Precision, Inc. in San Jose, CA, is seeking a brake press operator to run Amada NC9-EX and LD brake machines, performing setup and quality checks as part of a fast-paced manufacturing team.

This role requires reading drawings, following procedures, practicing 6S, and maintaining a safe, efficient workstation. Shifts include day, swing, and night, with overtime possible as business needs arise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Basic blueprint reading knowledge.
• Brake press experience required.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend instructions.
• Adheres to company and departmental policies.
• Notify leadership on issues with malfunctioning or defective parts.
• Maintain MASS Quality requirements.
• Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following procedures.
• Practice 6S at all times.
• Operate Amada NC9-EX and LD brake machines, power notcher and roller.
• Coordinate each job with Set-Up to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
• Learn simple set-ups on proven jobs according to standards.
• Safely check tool set-up when taking over a machine.
• Ensure required documents are complete and concise.
• Ensure drawings have correct revision, notes, tolerances, dimensions.
• Monitor cycle times and document productivity.
• Use EPICOR to clock in/out and enter labor data.
• Inspect first parts and maintain QA approvals.
• Participate in CI meetings.
