Amsted Rail in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Precision Bearing Assembly Technician & Materials Flow Coordinator to move materials, assist in high-accuracy bearing assembly, and ensure parts meet Amsted Rail standards.

You will operate a forklift, stage and document material movements, wrap and crate shipments, verify specifications with gauges, and maintain a clean, organized work area. The shift runs Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., with competitive pay and benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 10–50 lbs.
  • Pass pre-employment drug & background screening.
  • Comfort wearing company-provided PPE as required by the department.

Responsibilities

  • Stage and replenish materials for production cells; coordinate with shipping and receiving.
  • Perform a daily ride-on forklift inspection and operate it safely per company guidelines.
  • Load trailers following documented procedures and required checks.
  • Scan parts/materials, and use computer and paper checklists to document, track, and communicate movements.
  • Assist with wrapping, crating, and labeling items for shipment, including export pallets.
  • Inspect work for defects and take appropriate action.
  • Enter production run details into the company system.
  • Interpret operational sequences and required dimensions for finished pieces.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area per standard work instructions.

About the roleStep into a hands-on position that blends precision assembly with the movement of materials that keep production humming. As our Precision Bearing Assembly Technician & Materials Flow Coordinator, you will shuttle pallets, dies, tubs, baskets, and racks to work cells; crate finished export pallets; and contribute directly to assembling and inspecting high-accuracy bearing components that meet customer expectations and Amsted Rail standards.A day in the lifeYou arrive, complete your forklift inspection, and stage materials for production. Throughout the shift you scan parts, update checklists, and move inventory to and from assembly, shipping, and receiving. You follow loading procedures to prepare trailers, help wrap, crate, and label outbound product, and verify specifications with reports and gauges.
