Amsted Rail Petersburg is seeking a Roller Operator to operate and maintain a grinding line for precision metal parts, aligned with Amsted Rail standards. The role requires attention to measurements, defect checks, and safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities include setup assistance, tool changes, troubleshooting, and ensuring quality against specs. Forklift operation, PPE use, and regular standing are part of the job; strong safety adherence is essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and prior industrial experience are a plus.
• Ability to read measurements with gauges and calipers.
• Willingness to pass pre-employment drug & background screening.
• Ability to lift 10–50 lbs and stand/move regularly.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine controls and start operation.
• Measure dimensions of processed parts to specifications.
• Monitor conveyors and adjust machine parameters as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Operate forklift to move part bins and materials.
• Troubleshoot part quality and equipment problems as they arise.

POSITION SUMMARYThe Roller Operator operates and maintains a line to perform multiple grinding functions on metal work pieces.
