Job summary

Atlas Metal Cutting Inc is seeking an entry-level Amada Horizontal Band Saw Operator to join our fabrication team in Buena Park, CA. You will learn and perform safe, precise metal cutting to exact dimensions on a high‑production band saw.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating the saw, reading work orders, inspecting finished cuts, performing blade changes, measuring with calipers and micrometers, and assisting with material handling.

Qualifications

Experience operating a band saw or similar metal cutting machinery is helpful.
Ability to read cutting specifications.
Proficiency with calipers, tape measures, and micrometers.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise, quality cuts.
Knowledge of safe material handling practices.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy metal stock as needed.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively.
Forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate band saw equipment to cut metal materials to specified dimensions
Read and interpret work orders and cutting specifications
Inspect finished cuts for accuracy, quality, and compliance with tolerances
Perform routine maintenance and blade changes on band saw machinery
Measure and mark raw metal stock prior to cutting using calipers and measuring tools
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety protocols
Monitor machine performance and report any mechanical issues to supervisors
Material handling using a forklift
