Job summary

Syntron Material Handling Group in Kentucky seeks an experienced intermediate machinist to perform routine tasks with general knowledge, advancing independence, and operating manual or CNC machines. You’ll follow blueprints and orders to route work and set up times.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, selecting materials, hardness testing, calculating speeds and feeds, inspecting parts with gauges and micrometers, and ensuring safe, clean work areas.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years’ machine experience.
• Ability to read simple mechanical blueprints.
• Understand geometric tolerance concepts.
• Experience using hand gauges, micrometers and related measuring instruments.
• Experience with products or components related to the MHS business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders, blueprints, or follow verbal instructions for job routing and setup times.
• Select raw materials, perform hardness tests, and calculate speeds, feeds and depths of cut.
• Select machine tools and fixtures; perform machining on manual or CNC machines.
• Operate vertical shears and punch presses.
• Check part dimensions and evaluate non-destructive test examinations.
• Perform duties safely and maintain good housekeeping.
