Job summary

King Asphalt, Inc. is seeking a backhoe operator to perform grading and excavation work with a rubber tire backhoe or track hoe. You will safely and efficiently operate the equipment, monitor gauges, and assist with routine maintenance.

Experience with backhoe operation and a focus on safety are essential. The role requires 1–3 years of experience operating heavy equipment; you will follow instructions, read gauges, and perform tasks such as loading trucks and shaping subgrades.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write and perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers.
• Ability to read gauges and instrument readings for safe operation.
• Willingness to follow instructions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate rubber tire backhoe or track hoe for grading and excavation.
• Check fluid levels and monitor gauges at startup and throughout the day.
• Assist with routine repairs and maintenance; lubrication and fueling as needed.
• Perform tasks such as ditching, grading, base material placement and loading trucks.
• Maintain safety around personnel and structures; follow all company policies.
