Job summary

Forkardt Hardinge is seeking a Mechanical Assembler II for our Elmira, NY facility. The role involves independently building high-precision mechanical components and subassemblies, aligning parts, and ensuring fit and tolerance per released drawings and work instructions.

You will troubleshoot basic issues, maintain safety and quality standards, and collaborate with engineers and peers. A high school diploma is required, with vocational training preferred, and willingness to learn new techniques

Qualifications

• Requires experience assembling mechanical components in a manufacturing setting.
• Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and BOMs.
• Proficient with torque tools and standard measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Independently assemble mechanical components and subassemblies per drawings and BOMs.
• Install and align mechanical parts to meet specs.
• Troubleshoot basic fit and alignment issues within builds.
