Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in San Diego, CA is seeking a skilled fabrication assembler to lay out, join, fuse, and install prefabricated components. You will prepare braze alloys, set up core fabrication, and deburr parts to tight tolerances on a fast-paced shop floor.

You will operate core fabricating machines, apply coatings, perform furnace brazing, and ensure data is accurately recorded from tests. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and willingness to work any shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Willing to work any shift.
• Experience using hand tools and/or power tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble and install prefabricated parts to build subassemblies and assemblies.
• Prepare mixtures of braze alloys and adhesives and apply to assemblies prior to furnace brazing.
• Load braze alloys; make and install core; deburr machined parts and assemblies.
• Finish machined parts to close tolerances with varied contours and features.
• Operate finishing equipment and ovens; de-grease and clean parts as required.
• Verify and record data from testing process.
