Job summary

Process Insights, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an Assembly Technician to perform mechanical and electronic assembly for laser-based gas analyzers.

You will join the IMS division, reporting to the Production Manager and helping prepare high-precision instruments for shipment. The role requires strong attention to detail, self-management, and the ability to coordinate with Engineering, Production, and Aftermarket teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related technical field or 2–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in mechanical assembly with excellent manual dexterity.
• Hands‑on experience with soldering, electronics assembly, and precision component handling.
• Ability to use electro/optical test equipment, including oscilloscopes and voltmeters.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, method sheets, and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic and mechanical components for gas analyzers and related equipment with precision.
• Solder lasers, circuit boards and other sensitive parts.
• Prepare parts and materials based on drawings and BOMs.
• Finalize analyzers and equipment for shipment after verification of requirements.
• Operate electro/optical test equipment (oscilloscopes, wavemeters, etc.).
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot assembly issues.
• Support inventory accuracy and cycle counts.
• Shift between multiple tasks to meet production needs.
