Job summary

Custom Cylinders, Inc. in Cary, IL seeks an experienced Assembly Technician to join our team. You will assemble and test pneumatic and hydraulic components, follow drawings, and ensure parts meet quality standards. This role emphasizes attention to detail, safety, and teamwork.

You will read assembly instructions, operate drill presses and fixtures, inspect components, and communicate with colleagues to deliver high-quality parts for our customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years prior experience in assembly.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to read drawings and assembly instructions.
• Ability to lift boxes up to 40lbs as needed.
• Ability to handle and manipulate small parts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean components prior to assembling them
• Confirm that the types and quantities of components provided for the job match those listed in the paperwork provided with the assembly job
• Setup and operate drill presses, vices, fixtures and other types of equipment required for each assembly job
• Read and follow assembly instructions
• Effectively communicate with team members and supervisors
• Identify any parts that are not correct and notify a supervisor
• Perform final testing of finished parts prior to packaging for shipment
• Ensure that any and all excess or unused parts are returned to the appropriate locations (inventory, quality, etc.)
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Support the efficient operation of Custom Cylinders.
