Job summary

Kform is seeking an Assembly Technician in Sterling, VA to build and test mechanical and electromechanical products for defense applications. You will work from engineering drawings, BOMs, and work travelers to assemble with hand and power tools, perform basic electrical tests, and ensure parts traceability.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in a hands-on setting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow defined processes while contributing to a high‑mix manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ year in mechanical/ electronics assembly or related hands-on environment.
• Ability to read and follow drawings, BOMs, and instructions.
• Experience with common hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work on-site in Sterling, VA and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical products per drawings and instructions.
• Install fasteners, brackets, wiring, panels, and connectors.
• Use hand/power tools, torque tools, and basic electrical test equipment safely.
• Record labor, materials, serial numbers, and test results accurately.
• Follow quality, safety, and controlled-information procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstation per 5S practices.
• Support prototype builds and provide feedback to improve processes.
