Job summary

Encore Oilfield Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Assembly Fitter to join our New Iberia, Louisiana manufacturing team. The role involves laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting structural and mechanical components before welding and final assembly of natural gas compression equipment.

The successful candidate will read blueprints, P&IDs, and ISO/isometric drawings, calculate measurements precisely, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of directly related assembly, fitting, fabrication, or industrial experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure and calculate measurements.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and ISO/isometric drawings.
• Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Plan and identify the proper sequence of operations for assembly and fabrication activities.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components prior to welding.
• Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and ISO/isometric drawings.
• Read and accurately use a tape measure and perform measurement calculations.
• Locate and mark centerlines and reference points on floors, face blocks, and workpieces.
• Move and position parts and components for assembly.
• Align components to ensure proper fit-up and dimensional accuracy.
• Remove high spots, cut bevels, and prepare components for welding.
• Position and secure braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps, and other fixtures as needed.
• Assist with rigging and positioning large assemblies and equipment.
