Job summary

Universal Forest Products is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate component parts or assemble finished products per customer specifications. You will secure and prepare required parts and supplies, and operate hand tools to complete the assembly process.

You will maintain a clean, safe work area, complete pre-shift checks, and keep production records. No heavy experience is required; 18+ years old and basic math skills are preferred. UFP is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • The applicant should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
  • No minimum experience required; 6 months manufacturing/assembling experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work area setup.
  • Fit parts together per instructions and quality standards.
  • Operate hand tools to complete assembly.
  • Stack completed products and, if required, cover, label, and band components.
  • Ensure a safe, clean and organized work area and safe equipment.
  • Complete pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and report issues.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintain production records as required.
  • Check materials and finished products for standards compliance.
  • Follow safety and quality procedures and participate in programs and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
