Job summary

Wabtec is seeking an Assembler in Yankton, SD to assemble MESABI Heat Exchangers using hand tools and power tools. The role requires attention to detail, reading blueprints, and following safety procedures.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of mechanical experience, with strong math and English communication skills. Travel may be required to support projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of work experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical ability and experience using power tools and forklift when needed.
• Read blueprints or simple drawings and use measuring tools.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Good attendance and reliability.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Effective English communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Assemble MESABI Heat Exchangers using hand/power tools.
• Inspect assemblies and verify measurements.
• Maintain organized work areas and follow safety guidelines.
• Travel may be required depending on project needs.
• Assist in other production tasks as needed.
