Job summary

STERIS is seeking a Precision Assembler I to join our manufacturing team in Mentor, OH. You will perform assembly work in a controlled FDA-regulated environment, using hand tools and small presses to build medical devices.

This 2nd shift position offers a $1.25 shift differential and opportunities to learn processes, inspect parts, handle changeovers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. We value safety, quality, and teamwork and provide comprehensive benefits and potential for

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year assembly experience with small parts.
  • 1 year crimping experience.
  • 1 year gluing small parts.
  • 1 year material replenishment.
  • 1 year in-process inspections.
  • 1 year changeover for parts and equipment.
  • 1 year setup auto baggers and printers for new orders.
  • 1 year experience following shop practices and safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly-type functions using hand tools and bench top pneumatic presses consistently at or above production targets.
  • Handle and evaluate quality of small parts during manufacturing processes.
  • Inform Team Lead of any problems pertaining to production, parts, equipment or processes.
  • Operate equipment needed to perform job.
  • Adhere to Shop Practices including proper gowning and use of PPE and following standard work.
  • Submit Safety Observations through Safety Program and new Ideas through Ideas Program.
  • Update the Hour by Hour Board and complete Pareto charts.
  • Meet quality assurance requirements, complete DHRs, and perform Process Monitoring.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
