Job summary

ALOFT AeroArchitects in Georgetown, DE is seeking an assembly technician to perform complex mechanical assembly of aircraft tanks and related components. You will interpret blueprints, use precision instruments and power tools, and ensure materials and parts are correct before final assembly.

Under close supervision, you will document production data and adhere to safety standards, while participating in training programs to certify processes related to Tank Assembly.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
• 0 to 3 years of related experience in aircraft or metal working sheet metal; fuel cells/tanks is desirable.
• Capable of being trained and certified to Tank Assembly processes.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and repetitive mechanical assembly operations per blueprints, layouts and sketches under close supervision.
• Assemble aircraft auxiliary fuel tanks and associated components per drawings and process standards.
• Use precision measuring tools and basic power/hand tools under supervision.
• Check BOMs and travelers to determine materials; verify parts numbers prior to assembly.
• Coordinate with planning/procurement to requisition items and obtain necessary parts.
• Document material usage, production, quality and timekeeping data.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards and maintain a safe workspace.
• Complete initial and recurrent training in a timely manner.
