Job summary

Boone County Development Agency is hiring an Agronomist to develop, implement, and monitor agronomic programs aimed at maximizing crop yield and quality while ensuring environmental stewardship. This role involves working closely with farm operations personnel to execute agronomic plans effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or a related field, along with significant agronomic experience. Responsibilities include conducting field analysis, supporting crop health evaluations, and utilizing precision agriculture technologies to enhance productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of agronomic experience preferred.
• Experience with crop production systems and nutrient management.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator License required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement agronomic programs to maximize yield and quality.
• Conduct routine crop scouting and collect agronomic data.
• Work collaboratively with farm managers and team members.

Skills

Strong understanding of agronomic principles

Proficiency with precision agriculture technologies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of integrated pest management

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field
