ArtiFlex Manufacturing is seeking a Press Operator for the Aerospace, Defense & Prototype Group in Sterling Heights, MI. The role covers setup, tryout, and running parts to meet exacting quality standards on first shift.

Responsibilities include examining blueprints, using micrometers and calipers, operating band saws and presses, and learning to TIG weld on various surfaces. A strong manufacturing background and willingness to learn are required.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing background and hands-on fabrication experience.
• Prototype die set up and run experience preferred.
• Aerospace industry exposure is a plus and valued.
• Detail-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
• Regular physical movement including bending, stooping, sitting and standing for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic shop equipment (band saws, metal shear, die grinders, presses).
• Setup, tryout and run parts while meeting strict quality standards.
• Identify materials based on work order, traveler or material tag.
• Execute 2-4 piece die setup and run parts.
• Learn to use a check aid and read basic blueprints.
• Learn how to barber tools (non-class “A”).
• Spot die to die and gain some experience with metal, when needed.
• Ability to TIG weld on horizontal and some vertical surfaces.
• Ability to program presses and develop blanks.
• Use a check aid properly (clamping, nets).
