Job summary

RTX is seeking a skilled machinist to join our Middletown, CT operations. This on-site role involves setting up and operating machine tools to produce precision engine parts, following detailed instructions and drawings.

You will perform a range of tasks from milling and turning to finishing and assembly, using various measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with 1–3 years machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate one machine tool or process equipment type and operate more than one unrelated machine tool or process equipment types within an assigned area to produce precision engine parts.
• Follow verbal and written instructions, operation sheets, drawings and other pertinent information to achieve required dimensional specifications.
• Use manual or NC machine tools (milling, boring, grinding, turning, broaching, shaping) to meet specifications.
• Perform bench, assembly and surface finishing operations (deburring, blending, trimming, fitting).
• Drill, rivet and bond to assemble parts and operate part-marking equipment.
• Utilize measuring instruments to check dimensions and data; retrieve and store information in computer systems.
