Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring an EKG Technician to obtain orders, explain ECGs to patients, and prepare individuals across neonate to geriatric populations. You will download ECGs into the MUSE system and coordinate with reading Cardiologists, while keeping accurate patient data and maintaining equipment between patients.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong teamwork and communication with patients, families, physicians and health care team members.
• Basic computer skills required for patient data entry and ECG documentation.
• One year in a patient care or healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain ECG procedures and prepare patients across age groups.
• Download ECGs into MUSE and route to Cardiologist for interpretation.
• Maintain equipment and ensure correct date/time settings and paper speed.
• Identify quality improvement issues and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Train new EKG technicians and other staff on ECG procedures.
